Under general supervision, this position is responsible for Community TransitA?s ongoing systems administration and day:to:day operations of transit technology systems, as well as delivery and support of Community TransitA?s mid:tier and end:point technical infrastructure. This position works closely with Transit Technology personnel throughout the testing and implementation phases of various transit system technologies.Manage and oversee the process by which data is transferred to and from transit systems. Verify the data is current and is being updated in the appropriate time intervals as specified by business requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve data transmission issues.Manage and oversee the process by which significant transit technology systems, application and infrastructure events and incidents are detected by the Network Operations Center. Analyze and troubleshoot anomalies or detected events and ensure appropriate action is taken.Monitor Information Technology, including transit:specific systems, application and infrastructure performance and reliability in relation to established service level agreements. Monitor system performance, reliability, connection status, and faults. Review daily transit system connection reports and device connection reports.Provide technical support, including problem identification, investigation, and resolution for all end users including contractors and internal staff. Coordinate the repair or replacement of malfunctioning equipment as required.Lead communications between internal and external customers and vendors in support of transit technology systems.Plan, design, administer and implement end:point and transit:specific hardware/software deployments and upgrades, including virtual desktop infrastructure, in partnership with Information Technology staff and other affected department. Identify, recommend and deploy technology standards. Administer and troubleshoot network access.Produce and distribute periodic system reports as well as ad hoc reports as requested.Other duties of a similiar nature.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree (AS or AA) in computer science or equivalent experience.3 years of work experience in administering networks or systems5 years of work experience in an IT support role interfacing daily with end users in person, over the phone and via email.5 years of work experience in Windows configuration, repair, and troubleshooting5 years of work experience troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware, software, and network problems.Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.Ability to work outside of normal business hours to support critical systems and transit applications as required.Ability to drive a Community Transit company vehicle; must possess a valid WA State DriverA?s license at time of hire.Preferred Experience working in a Network Operations Center.Experience working with a virtual:based infrastructure.5 years of experience in Macintosh configuration, repair, and troubleshooting.ITIL Framework certification.BachelorA?s degree in computer science or related field. Transit business and policy related to customer services practices.ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES Qualification to enter this position requires knowledge of the following:Project management techniques, including all phases of a project life cycle.Desktop operating systems, Microsoft Office applications; installation, configuration, administration, and support of PC hardware; principles and theories of network systems and management; Internet technologies.Qualification to enter this position requires skill in:Knowledge of Service Desk operations, desktop and laptop hardware and software, smart phones, Active Directory domain administration, Exchange, Windows, MS Office, third party utilities, software distribution, Windows maintenance and patch installation, and software licensing.Experience
