Requisition # AS.A 105 Job Title * Director of Education Job Classification Salaried Job Type Contract Exact Wage Amount Category * Education Job Description * Job Title: Director of Education for Tulalip Schools Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Education and Innovation, the Director of Education will be responsible for implementing a community-informed plan for opening and sustaining a tribal school serving Tulalip Tribal children. The Director of Education for Tulalip Tribes will plan, organize, control, and direct dual language operations and activities for the school K-2. The Director of Education will direct services including, but not limited to, the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive programs in support of our Tulalip community scholars and dual language. The Director of Education will provide leadership to The Tulalip Tribes of Washington School. The Director of Education will coordinate supplemental supports to increase student achievement, ensure equity and access, increase rigor, and close the achievement gap for all learners' at all instructional levels. The Director of Education will supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel to achieve efficient operations and activities. Essential to this role is partnering with educational committees and advisory groups whose mission it is to develop and inform (advise) culturally responsive programs and curriculum; provide administration and supervision of all education programs related to the school; will hire and oversee teachers and staff, including providing professional development that is culturally responsive and builds on the strengths of tribal children; and will build connections with other tribal programs related to culture and education (eg, museums, natural resources, and language). Sustaining and building partnerships with the Tulalip Tribal "community". Community is defined as the service district/population of the school, inclusive of the Tulalip Tribal membership and government. Establish a climate in the areas of responsibility conducive to appropriate conduct, performance, attitude, job satisfaction, and service orientation. Compensation: $43.15 - 44.45 per hour Education: Master's degree in educational administration, curriculum and instruction, linguistics, or English as a Second Language, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, or related field Doctoral degree in related field preferred. Experience: Minimum of five (5) years working with system design or process refinement Minimum of five (5) years working in school environment with youth (teaching experience is preferred) Minimum of five (5) years working with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel Minimum of five (5) years working with confidential information Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience Minimum of five (5) years of working with data and statistics Minimum of five (5) years experience working with teachers on curriculum development and instructional skills related to school standards. Minimum of five (5) years experience in developing records, reports and presentations for a variety of audiences; working time & attendance records, and reports. Experience as a school Principal preferred. Prerequisites: Washington State Teaching Credential with an ELL or TESOL Endorsement. Washington State District Administrative Credential. Must pass a Tier I-C background investigation. Terms of Employment: This is a contracted position.
